Scheduling Appointments

Schedule Availability

Our appointment schedule for March 2025 will open up December 2, 2024.

Appointments Are Required

Please call our office to schedule all appointments, including well and sick visits. We will do our best to accommodate your desired date and time. Telehealth appointments are still available. Please call the office.

Appointment Time

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to complete any outstanding paperwork, provide your insurance card and credit card information.

RTC Pediatrics NO SHOW/CANCEL POLICY

A $50 ($100 June-August) missed appointment fee will be added to your account for all WELL CHILD EXAMS that are missed or not canceled at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. If you no show/cancel less than 2 hours of a same day sick appointment, your account will be charged a $50 missed appointment fee. Please read our Financial Policy.

Running Late?

If you are running late or need to reschedule, please contact our office as soon as possible. Please note that patients who arrive more than 15 minutes late for their appointment may be asked to reschedule their appointment.

After-Hours Calls

When the office is closed, you may choose to be connected to our after-hours answering service. If needed, they can connect you to the physician on call. The fee to speak to someone after hours is $25/call. This service is not billed to your insurance.

The after-hours answering service can’t attend to matters regarding lab results, referral requests, prescription refills, billing questions, or changing/canceling appointments. These needs will have to be addressed when the office is open.

Lab Appointments

If you have a lab appointment at RTC Pediatrics with lab orders from another physician’s office, you must bring the physical paper order to your appointment with us. If you arrive for your appointment without your physical paper order, you will have to reschedule.

RTC Pediatrics is affiliated with Reston Hospital Center and Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Walk-In Sick Clinic

Walk-In Sick Clinics take place on Monday mornings and Friday mornings from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM for our established patients. Any time outside of the above Walk-In Sick Clinic days and hours, please call our office at 703-435-3636 and choose option 3 to speak with one of our nurses to schedule a sick visit.

Our Walk-In Sick Clinic is for established patients with minor illness symptoms lasting less than a week. Established patients are those who have already had at least one office visit here. Patients are seen on a first come, first served basis.

Please bring your insurance card and be prepared to pay your copay, if applicable.

How to Schedule Flu Shot

If your child is already scheduled for a well check in the upcoming weeks, please know that they can receive a flu vaccine during that appointment. If you are interested in bringing an additional child to the appointment to receive flu vaccine, please let us know when you check in.

If you are looking to schedule a visit just for your child to receive their flu vaccine, we encourage you to schedule via the portal. If your child has Medicaid Insurance such as Anthem HealthKeepers your child will need to visit your Local Board of Health. Click on the link below for instructions on how to self-schedule through the portal.

Clinics are scheduled for every Tuesday morning in October from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.

Please have your child wear loose fitting clothing (please note that children under 1 will receive the vaccine in their thigh and most children 1 year and older will receive it in their upper arm).

We need everyone to arrive at your scheduled time to receive your flu vaccine.  If you are having difficulty scheduling all your children together - please call the office for assistance.

Please note there will be NO availability to speak with a provider at these appointments.

Beyfortus Immunization for RSV

Reston Town Center Pediatrics will be offering Beyfortus for the prevention of RSV disease in infants and children starting October 2024! Beyfortus will be given during well child checks to infants who meet these qualifications:

Less than 8 months of age (born after April 1st, 2024)
Infant was born less than 14 days after pregnant parent’s RSV immunization
Infants and children 8 through 19 months of age who are at increased risk of severe RSV disease and entering their second RSV season:
- Cystic Fibrosis who have manifestations of severe lung disease
- Severely immunocompromised
- Chronic lung disease of prematurity who required medical support at any time during the 6-month period before the start of the second RSV season

Telehealth Appointments

Your child’s next visit could take place in the convenience of your home via telehealth.

Tips for your telehealth visit

Click on the name of the provider that your confirmed telehealth appointment is scheduled with – choose your provider from the Virtual Waiting Room List. This will direct you to your scheduled provider’s virtual waiting room. Check in by following the prompts & kindly wait for the visit to begin. If you are waiting more than 10 minutes for the provider to join the visit OR if you are running late, please call our office at 703-435-3636 to speak to reception.
Internet access is required. This service works best if you are on Wi-Fi.
You do not need to download any apps in advance. Please use Google Chrome or Firefox for your web browser.
Your computer’s camera and audio must be enabled.
A quiet environment with good lighting is important. Place the light in front of you and your child, rather than behind you.
Please have your child’s recent weight and temperature.
We may need to review any medications your child is using, and verify your preferred pharmacy.

Privacy Considerations

Please understand that while this software is HIPAA-compliant, by choosing to do a virtual visit, you are agreeing to electronic communication of you or your child’s health information through audio, video, and/or photo technology. While our software is secure, consider any privacy needs in your space as well.

We are required to report visits outside of normal business hours to your insurance provider. Appointments scheduled before 8am, after 5pm, on Saturdays and on Federal holidays will incur an additional fee, which may be applied to your copay, coinsurance, or annual deductible.

We are closed for Christmas Day, New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Day.

We require an appointment for your child to be seen.
